"When a handrail cover plate close to the height of the handrail is installed between the escalator or inclined moving sidewalk and the adjacent wall, and the distance between the building (wall) and the centerline of the handrail is greater than 300mm, an anti sliding device shall be installed on the handrail cover plate. The device shall include components fixed on the handrail cover plate, the distance from the handrail shall not be less than 100mm, and the spacing between anti sliding devices shall not be more than 1800mm,
The height shall not be less than 20mm. The device shall be free from acute angles or edges.
"For adjacent escalators or inclined moving sidewalks, the above requirements shall also be met when the distance between the center lines of handrails is greater than 400mm."
On the basis of gb16899-1997, gb16899-2011 makes clearer provisions on the anti climbing setting at the handrail device of escalator, unifies the specific installation position and relevant dimensional requirements of the device, and provides a good basis for installation and inspection.
2 several ways of anti climbing setting
(1) When the distance between the outer edge of the handrail of the escalator and the wall or building is small and the width of the outer cover plate is greater than 125mm (as shown in Figure 1), the author believes that a blocking device shall be installed at the entrance and exit or a counter shall be installed at the entrance of the escalator according to the actual situation on site to prevent personnel from entering the outer cover plate area. The blocking device shall extend to a height of 25 ~ 150mm from the lower edge of the handrail, The distance from the outer edge of the handrail is 80 ~ 120mm. At this time, a blocking device is installed at the handrail device at the entrance of the escalator to prevent personnel from entering the outer cover plate area of the handrail. The schematic diagram of the blocking device is shown in Figure 2.
(2) When the distance between the outer edge of the handrail of the escalator and the wall or building is large (as shown in Figure 3), the author believes that the anti climbing device should be installed at the entrance of the escalator according to the requirements of the new inspection regulations. The anti climbing device is located 1000 ± 50mm above the ground plane, the lower part intersects with the outer cover plate, the extension length parallel to the outer cover plate shall not be less than 1000mm, and it shall ensure that there is no foot step within this length range. The height of the device shall be at least flush with the surface of the handrail. The commonly used material of the device is stainless steel or hard plastic plate. The schematic diagram of the anti climbing device is shown in Figure 4.
(3) When the distance between the center lines of adjacent escalator handrails is greater than 400mm (as shown in Figure 5), the author believes that it is sufficient to install a blocking device at the entrance and exit. The blocking device should extend to a height of 25 ~ 150mm from the lower edge of the handrail, and the spacing between the blocking device and the handrail wall guard should be less than 50mm. The commonly used material of this device is stainless steel or hard plastic plate. The schematic diagram of the blocking device is shown in Figure 6.
3 conclusion
To sum up, for the installation of anti climbing setting at the handrail of escalator, the final decision shall be made according to the actual situation of the location of escalator.
The anti climbing device shall be installed on the outer cover plate of the escalator to prevent personnel from falling. If there is a risk of personnel falling, appropriate measures shall be taken to prevent personnel from climbing on the outside of the handrail device. If there is no possibility of climbing, it is not necessary to set it. If it is against the wall or has been set to prevent entry (counters, blocking devices, etc. are set next to the escalator), it needs to be set only if it is possible to enter or fall after entering. No matter what method is adopted to install the anti climbing device at the handrail of the escalator, its purpose is to prevent people from entering and falling, so as to avoid accidents and casualties.
